MultiMedia Gelli-Plate background with a Wobble Addition!

A stellar background with a wobble rocket! You need to work relatively quickly whilst doing this so the paint doesn't dry on the Gelli-Plate. You'll also get 3 backgrounds from one inking so it's a project that makes a bonanza of backgrounds!

What you'll need for your project:

 * LoveAll Crafts Stencil Sets - Starburst and Layering Rocket (You can use any stencils for this!)

* Gelli Art Gelli-Plate or a gellipad of some kind - there are many out there now. I'm using my old faithful 6x6 inch Gelli-Plate.
* A brayer - I'm using a Speedball roller

* Acrylic Paint - I'm using Pebeo Studio Acrylic Paint in Payne's Grey

* Hobbycraft Pigment Inks - Lavender, Metallic Purple, Purple, Royal Blue and Turquoise
* Encore Ink Pad - Metallic Silver

* 2 pieces of normal cardstock
* 1 piece of copy paper or scrap paper

* Sharpie pen or black marker for outlining

* A small piece of strong plastic from packaging, a laminated sheet or some mylar

Let's get crafting!

1. Put a few blobs of paint on the Gelli-Plate and spread out with the brayer evenly. The thicker you put it down, the stronger the background will be so the choice is up to you how thick you go.

2. Put the Starburst Stencil down onto the painted surface.

3. Using a piece of scrap paper, or just normal copy paper cover the stencil and Gelli-Plate. You're going to try and remove all of the exposed paint so press down firmly and rub each star to pick up as much paint as you can. When you think you've got it, peel the paper off.

That's one background you can use on another project!

4.  Lift up the stencil carefully and place a piece of cardstock over the plate. You can also pull a print off of the back of the stencil if you want to - this dries a lot quicker than the Gelli-Plate so you may want to spray it with a bit of water before you pull a print off of it.

5. Using the background pulled directly from the Gelli-Plate we're now going to use some ink pads to add some colour. You can use any ink pad but be aware that inks like Distress Inks and especially Distress Oxides will sit on top of the paint and you'll loose the blue colour. I found the HobbyCraft Pigment Inks work great - and their metallic inks have a glittery effect to them which just adds to the galaxy effect. Test your inks on a bit of scrap paper first to see their effect!

6. Ink up your background! And there it is! Your background for your project.

7. I'm now going to use the LoveAll Crafts Rocket Layering Stencil to be the "Wobble" part of the card. There is a video on how to use the set available here. I'll also do a quick Step by Step below. So we start with the body layer of the Rocket. I'm inking this with Encore Metallic Silver Ink.

8. Then we use the wings layer which I'm using HobbyCraft Pigment Ink in Purple on

9. And finally the Head Layer which I'm inking in HobbyCraft Pigment Ink in Blue

10. I like to go round the outside of the finished stencil with a black Sharpie to really make it pop - this is totally up to you!

11. I'm stamping on a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamps and CZ Designs Tiny Sentiments Set, then fussy cut the rocket out.

12. If you'd like to add some rocket flames, I find the easiest way is to rip some coloured cardstock in red, orange and yellow then attach to the back of the rocket.

13. Take a piece of stiff plastic - I'm using a bit of left over mylar but you can use anything like a laminated sheet or event some packaging that is about to go in the recycling bin. You need to score tabs on both sides so you get an angular U shape. The bigger the middle part is, the more your wobble sentiment will stand out from the card. glue on the outside of the two folds and attach the rocket to the card in the position you want

14. Ta- dah!!!

Gnome Stencil Set

We're so excited to bring this set to you... Gnomes!! This four piece stencil set allows you to make 27 different gnomes. Yes 27! The stencil set has 3 different bodies, 3 different hats and 3 different beards/hair (there are two beards and one ponytail hair).

Here's a basic way of using the set.

What I'm using for this project...

* The Gnome Layering Stencil from LoveAll Crafts

* Distress Oxide Ink

* Blending brushes

* An Anita's 5x5 inch white card base

* Painters tape or a low tack tape to keep stencils and masks in place

Let's get Crafting!

1. I like to start by using the masks to make sure my gnome will fit on the page I'm working on and that I get the correct positing. You get all the inner masks with this set so to help you build the gnome.

2. When you're happy with the positioning you need to start with the nose. There are 3 different noses available in this set (which actually means there are 81 different gnomes you can build!)

3. Use the mask to cover the nose. I use a bit of painters tape but be careful - if the ink is wet the tape might not stick very well but also might remove some of the ink!

4. Choose your beard or hair, lay it over the top of the nose - position wise is up to you, you can completely cover the nose, partially cover it, or not cover it at all - the choice is up to you! I'm going partially covered here...

5. Ink it up!

6. Cover with the appropriate mask

7. Choose which body you'd like and place the stencil down in the position you'd like

8. If you'd like to add a pattern to the body, keep the body stencil down and place the spots or stripes (or any stencil you have and want to use!) over the top. And Ink...

9. Next choose which hat you'd like to use, put down the stencil and ink.

10. If you'd like some texture, keep the hat stencil down and place your texture stencil over the top. This time I'm using the spots that come with the gnome set.

11. Remove all of your masks and stencils and hey presto! A gnome!

Now to turn this gnome into a card...

I'm using all of the masks to cover the image and then adding the LoveAll Crafts Square Frame over the top.

I'm then inking with Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Mermaid Lagoon and Fossilised Amber

I'm then stamp a Congratulations stamp from the Stampin' Up Bravo Set and remove the masks.

I like to ink around by stencil to give a bit more definition and hide any white lines.

And finished with a little gold bauble for his hat

and here we go!

LoveAll Crafts Easter Egg Stencil Tutorial

The LoveAll Crafts Easter Egg Stencil set has 4 stencils and 3 masks in it. And it's not just for Easter! Here is a quick guide on how to use them.

The set:

The first 3 have notches in the top left and bottom right corners - this helps you to line up the stencils easily.

Let's get crafting!

1. Place the 3 eggs stencil on to a piece of cardstock. You can go directly onto the card you are making or onto just a spare piece of card. I'm going to do the latter here so I can fussy cut them when done and use on a few cards.

2. Colour in whatever way you want to - ink, paint, spray, spritz, colour with pencil/pens. I'm using Fossilised Amber Distress Oxide Ink.

3. Keeping the egg stencil down, place either the spot or waves stencil over the top. Line up your notches in the top left and bottom right corners.

4. Colour in whatever way you want to - ink, paint, spray, spritz, colour with pencil/pens. I'm using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink.

5. Remove both stencils and ta-dah!

6. Fussy cut and add to a card. The one I created from this wasn't actually an Easter one, it was one for my nephew's birthday...
The nest is made from Sizzix Thinlets Wreath dies and the stamp is from my stash which has been coloured in with Promarkers. The background has been inked with Distress Oxide Ink (Milled Lavender) and the Stripes Background Stencil from LoveAll Crafts.

You can use any stencil to "decorate" your egg. Here I've used a FolkArt Stencil. The Egg is inked in Distress Oxide Milled Lavender and the FolkArt Stencil is inked in Wilted Violet:

I then fussy cut the egg and added a few bits to make an Easter Card....
